Atrox website

After 21 years of anonymity we’re back to document the punk band we had in the early ‘80s.

The painfully slow gestation of this website has taken 2 years but is worth it we think, unless that is :- you hated us back then and still do, or you’ve stumbled across this site whilst Googling for the “other” Atrox(es) or some other weird reason. Either way, tough.

This website may eventually cover all the info and pictures we can lay our hands on, as long as it’s scan-able and relevant. At the moment it’s work-in-progress and will be updated from time to time. If you have any photos, flyers, or live tapes of STTS/Atrox, please get in touch.

CD due in 2007/8

Some of the band have been talking about finally putting out a CD of our 2 demos for the last 4/5 years. Luckily a US re-issue label specialising in releasing lost punk and hardcore recordings from the late 70s and early 80s has stepped in and shown interest where we’ve shown apathy. Which is lucky or we may never have got round to it. Nothing concrete yet but we’ll keep you informed here.

Atrox in Ian Glasper’s book “The Day The Country Died – a history of anarcho punk”

– after a year and a half or so of compiling, Ian’s second volume (of 3) documenting the UK punk scene of the early 1980s came out in October 2006. Having missed inclusion in the 1st volume (“Burning Britain”), Ian offered us a slot in this volume along with old gig mates Self Abuse. Although I doubt either of us would consider ourselves strictly to have been “anarcho punk” bands, we’re grateful to Ian for including us. Thanks to Ian, and good luck with the next volume, which will concentrate on the emergent hardcore scene. If you were in a band
